Why I joined this network:
I am the creator of the network.
Who am I?
My name is Cendrine Marrouat and I was born in Toulouse, France. I now live in Canada.

University provided me with a fertile ground for writing. I was exposed to the literary works of some of the greatest English-speaking figures of history: William Shakespeare, Elizabeth Bishop, Jane Austen, William Wordsworth, Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson... They have left an indelible impression on me and helped me broaden my mind.

Poetry was my first excursion in the literary world. It became a passion very quickly, and helped me express the inner core of my being. This unflinching passion bore fruit in 2006, when I self-pusblished three collections of poetry:
- "And They All Rejoiced! Soul-Stirring Poetry" (ISBN 0978112709);
- "Short Poetry for Those Who Fear Death" (ISBN 0978112717); and
- "Sortons des chemins battus. Poésie de l'âme" (ISBN 0978112725).
These books are available for purchase through this website.

Last year, I started dabbling with playwriting and short stories, which furthered my journey into self-discovery. As a result, two plays emerged, entitled: "In the Silence of Words" and "Sound in Mind and Body". They are also available on this website for your reading pleasure. Your feedback is greatly welcome!

I am a fervent believer in God, and my writing offers a mixture of Spirituality and Christianity. In that sense, my biggest influences are Khalil Gibran, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Alphonse de Lamartine. However, I also draw inspiration from my own experience of Life as a human being with flaws and issues. Hence, my body of work does not only deal with abstract ideas; it also deals with everyday problems, such as love and pain.

As an artist, my goal is not only to be read but also to offer a positive vision of everything I experience.

Write for Those Who Understand

Caustic it feels, Callous it reels. Ideas and soul Are the loophole. Inspect they must, Scanning they trust. Penning your style Makes them hostile. "No force, my dear. Mark my words, seer. Love's obsolete. God's an effete." Their rulings may suit their ghetto, Truth'll never be counterfeited. So prattle, revile, and deride- Insight is a prerequisite; Respect would give you more credit. Read with your heart, Judge with your soul. Beauty's in the eyes of the beholder. Jealousy arises with hel… Continue

Moments

I have had moments of love, Moments of authenticity, And moments of beauty. Two souls entwined, A fleeting bit of sensuality, And smiles to die for. Skins will not touch; Eyes will not look; Lips will not kiss. Everything is within. Energies explore the Smooth flow of wonder. How I crave those moments! I have had moments with you. One second was enough To last me for eternity. When shall we meet again? I sure adore your soul. Let us never make love. I will show you heaven, instead! Let us neve… Continue
