Décor

In the foyers of love’s hallways

is an empty room…

No fancy greetings,

no foray of expensive silk loom…

One exception to the décor

amidst the barren dark wall…

There on a small shelf

is an empty vase of gall…

Surrounding this crystal

like little glass pebbles

mirroring reflections of stone…

The rays of hope

were more than shards glimmering

from within all perils known…

I seen a deeper quest

within the feelings of this room…

Judge not the look of empty

when behind the walls are treasures

of golden bloom…

Hope not upon the brass fortunes,

nor the nickel silver of platinum coins …

no curse of rare ruby gems

have ever crossed the thresholds this foyer joins…

There is however only one fortune

of wealth which is surrendered

upon happiness alone…

For the gift of rare true loves measures

are the vase of those pebbles

of shards broken stone…

video suits the poem well. Very touching poem. I like the couplet "no foray of expensive silk loom"
